As part of our history topic about WW2, we have enjoyed listening to songs that were popular at the time such as ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ by Vera Lynn and ‘The Chattanooga Choo Choo’ by Glenn Miller. We discussed how these songs may have helped people escape the horrors of war and think of home or of better times to come. We then created our own blitz-inspired soundscapes, telling the story of an air raid. It was great fun performing these to our friends to see if they could hear the way we used different sounds to tell the story.
