Year 2 News
After listening to Gareth make up a story about how the owl lost his hoot, we made up our own stories and acted them out. When we got back to class, we drew the characters in our stories, ready for our next literacy topic.
Gareth is working with Key Stage 1 classes today, leading story telling sessions and sharing his love of books and reading.
Huge thanks for all the generous donations this harvest time. Volunteers from the Friary Drop-in expressed their gratitude when they came to collect the many bags full of food. Your donations will support the valuable work the centre does in helping and empowering those who are homeless and vulnerable.
Inspired by our geography topic and our Literacy work linked to Katie Morag, Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed creating our model islands.
The children enjoyed learning about islands and created their own sculptures. After designing and making their islands, they painted them and added some human features.
A very successful first recorder club - well played Year 2!
