We had a spoooooky week in Foundation! The children made magic spells to turn their teachers in to witches! Luckily, the magic didn’t last for too long…

Pumpkins appeared in lots of our challenges this week. They included;

  • Reading the numeral on the pumpkin and counting out the corresponding amount of conkers,
  • Drawing mini-pumpkins using the pastels,
  • Making pumpkins using play dough,
  • Scooping and cutting real pumpkins,
  • Using apples to make a printed pumpkin picture.

We have been learning about 2D shapes during Maths Time this week. We made some magic pumpkin spells using shapes! We also went on a shape hunt around foundation…

We had a very exciting guest in assembly this week! Margaret came in to visit us. Here is a photograph of Margaret and Callen from Rainbow Class; at the moment they are both on a television programme called Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds. We found out that Margaret used to be a teacher in schools and nurseries. We loved listening to her stories about growing up, the war, teaching and taking part in the programme. 🙂

Here are some more photos from our week…

What a fun last week at school! The children have had a really fantastic first half-term. We are so proud of everything they have achieved so far. We hope you have a wonderful week off! 🙂
