In the final week of our ‘Traditional Tales’ topic we have enjoyed lots of activities relating to ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. The children have loved making goat headbands to wear whilst acting out the story. We have been really impressed with the children’s independent writing attempts, some children even had a go at making their own mini books! One of our challenges this week was to make a bridge for the goats to cross using the building blocks. as the week progressed we became more ambitious using the crates to build a bridge outside.

Here are some photos from our Finger Gym.

We loved making troll / goat masks!

And Three Billy Goats Gruff finger puppets…

We also had a go at drawing a goat following the instructions.

And we practising tricky words we, be, me.

Our final and very tricky Finger gym was to see how many Cheerios we could thread on to a piece of spaghetti!

We have really enjoyed our fairytales topic! Next half term, we will be learning about people who help us and real-life superheroes.

Our learning this week has also included ‘The Story of Creation’. The children have been sequencing the events of the story. The illustrations created by the children have been stunning!

In Phonics this week we have learned the sounds ‘ar’ as in ‘car’ and ‘or’ as in ‘sort’.

We hope you all have a lovely half term!
