This week we have based our learning around the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
We have enjoyed learning the story off by heart and acting it out.
We made bridges for the goats to cross over the river. We tested their strength by putting weights on them.
We used the iPad to take photographs of our bridges. The next day, they were printed out and we did some super writing about our bridges!
We made some scary troll masks!
On Thursday mornings, we have music, PE and technology lessons.
This week in PE we were moving across bridges in different ways.
In technology, we were learning about programming and programmed cars through grids.
In music, we sang and used instruments to represent the little goat, medium goat and big goat.
In maths, we have been learning about halving.
Next week we will be basing our learning around the story of George and the Dragon.
Some of the activities we will do are…retelling the story, describing dragons, making shields, collaging knights and princesses, writing about how to train a dragon, making dens for dragons and learning about castles.
Please send in any cereal boxes or similar for box modelling.
In maths we will be learning about doubling.
We hope you have had fun making Billy Goat Gruff puppets with your child and acting out the story for the Learning at Home Journal. Please return the journal by Tuesday.
Just a reminder about naming items of clothing. Rainbows in particular have quite a lot of unnamed PE clothes.
Thank you 🙂
