Over the course of this half term, we have been working on our sketching skills. We linked this to our learning about WW2 by sketching people and items from the time. Some people drew children who were evacuated or the teddy bear that would have comforted them on the journey; others drew men and women in the roles they would have had. To begin with, we were a bit nervous about sketching – confidence was low! But over time, with lots of practice, we could see the improvement in our work. We hope you like the finished pieces where we mounted our artwork on a colourful background. We thought long and hard about the colour choices, using them to convey emotion that ‘fit’ with the sketch.
