GUIDED READING

For today’s Guided Reading the focus in on retrieval.  Read through the rocky road recipe with Mrs Horton and use your amazing retrieval skills to answer the questions. Click here for the powerpoint.

LITERACY

In today’s lesson you will be writing your own set of instructions.  You may choose to write instructions to make food, how to play a game or how to make a lego model – it is entirely up to you.  However, you must follow Mrs Horton’s instructions as to how you need to present your work.  She has also set you a challenge! Watch the following video to find out more:

Write your own instructions tutorial

You may use this writing template to write down your instructions.

MATHS

We are continuing to focus on money. Today we are looking at solving word problems using different coins. If you are unable to answer a question or print the sheets, please discuss the question, and do what you can for each without printing. Try using real money to support this task and record any answers on a piece of paper or in a notebook.

Once you have worked through this powerpoint, complete this worksheet.  These worksheets increase in difficulty, therefore please work at your child’s own pace and ability.

If your child lacks confidence in maths or is finding it difficult, then please look at this support ideas power-point to help adapt the work. If you child is still finding it difficult, then please contact us on year2@abbeyroadprimary.co.uk for advice.

DT

Today’s lesson has been set as a Teams assignment (DT lesson 2).  Please complete the lesson and turn it in today.  If you are struggling to access the materials needed for today’s lesson, you can find them below:
