Home Learning Letter – Year 2
Whilst learning from home, there will be a suggested timetable of activities for the children to complete each day. These are the activities that children would have completed if they were in school. We understand that learning from home looks different for each family, and so please use the timetable to suit your family. Please also encourage the children to keep active during this time – this may be by using ‘Just Dance’ videos or games in the house.
This post outlines work for Wednesday 6th January. Further guidance for the week will be uploaded in due course. When completing tasks, children can either do so electronically (via Microsoft PowerPoint or Word) or by recording work on separate sheets of paper or a notepad.
We will be setting two assignments via Teams a week, these tasks must be completed and submitted for feedback. If you have any technical issues when using Teams please contact the school office for support.
Please use the email email@example.com to contact the Year 2 Team at any point.
Use this power-point. The power-point is narrated and today we are focusing on Retrieval questions. Children can answer orally or written and the answers are provided on the second slide.
This week our focus is poetry. Today we are looking at onomatopoeia, use this power-point to learn about onomatopoeia and write your own poem.
This week our focus in on money. If you are unable to answer a question because you are unable to print the sheets, please discuss the question, and do what you can for each without printing. For today’s lesson, we are looking at recognising notes. Use this power-point before completing this worksheet.

This term we are studying Jesus’ Parables. Today we will explore the story of The Lost Sheep and think about the hidden meaning. Look at this power-point and write how the sheep felt when it was lost and when it was found. Use this worksheet or draw your own sheep and thought bubbles.
At the beginning of the year we learnt to do some yoga to help calm our minds and bodies. This week, why not have a go at Cosmic Yoga – Pedro Penguin. This is on You Tube, so please be mindful of safe internet use.
