Class 2MH Meeting is Friday 12th at 9.30am with Mrs Horton

Tomorrow is Chinses New Year so, today and tomorrow, our guided reading will be a non-fiction text about Chinese New Year. Today we are focusing on retrieval questions.  Click here for the narrated power-point.

In literacy today, we are going to continue to play with words in the style of Roald Dahl. We will be using alliterative adjectives and adverbs, onomatopoeia as well proper nouns with apostrophes to show possession.

Click here for the narrated powerpoint.

There is an assignment added each week to practise Monday’s spellings. Try to use the spelling words in your everyday writing.

Today we are continuing with our learning of the 5 times table.

This powerpoint is narrated and contains tasks to be completed along the way.

Complete this worksheet  but please note, questions 5 and 6 do not need to be completed unless your child is ready for the extra independent challenge.

There is also a Challenge worksheet if extra work is required.

Thursday answer sheet

Don’t forget to practise your mental maths skills on a regular basis. Your log-in details are on the back of your reading diary.

To complete our Science topic on Animals including humans, we have one final lesson looking at the lifecycle of humans. How does it compare to the lifecycle of other animals?  Work though this powerpoint  completing Activity one  a timeline of the human lifecycle.

Use Activity 2 sheet to look back at your bread experiment and complete the explanation section. If nothing has happened, you may wish to leave it for a little while longer. (With the amount of hand washing / sanitiser being used at the moment, this experiment may not have worked as well as it has done in previous years)

If you have any questions please email year2@abbeyroadprimary.co.uk

Kind regards,

The Year 2 Team
