Hello Year 3,

We want to start today’s post by saying a big thank you to so many of you for sending us more wonderful artwork. If you would like to have a look at photos of your friends getting involved in our Forest School sessions just have our look at our weekly Welly  Wednesday post. 🙂 It really made us smile knowing that so many of us can still participate in our Forest School sessions and another HUGE thank you to parents for supporting this/all the learning we set at home :).

Guided Reading

Today we haven’t set a guided reading task to allow you the time to pick up a good book and get lost in a fictional world/learn some interesting facts from a non-fiction text. You could even read out loud to a sibling, parent or a pet if you wish, we think they would enjoy that also.

Maths

We have been so impressed with how you are continuing to work hard with multiplication and division.  Like last week, we would like you to spend your maths session today accessing Times Table Rock Stars, logging on and challenging yourself to answers as many questions as you can in the time set.  How many coins can you earn? What will you spend your coins on in the Avatar shop? Can you beat your score from last week?

Maybe you could challenge a friend to a battle!

The times table questions you see and answer will vary from week to week as we add in more and more multiples and times tables to challenge you! So remember to keep logging on!

Your TTRS log in is on the back of your readung diary. Google TTRS student login. The page should look something like this:

If you have any password / log in issues / queries please email and we will do our best to sort it out for you as soon as possible!

Happy times table practising!

Teams meetings-

3ST- 9:00-9:30am

3M 10:30- 11am

Hopefully, lots of you can join our class TEAMS meeting this morning prior to completing the rest of your chapter 2 with a twist. In the meeting, we plan on sharing/discussing ideas in order to check we are all on the right track with our writing, ensure no one feels stuck with what to write next and show off any adventurous and exciting ideas you have had for your work. Of course, you do not have to share ideas or read your work out if you don’t wish to- your teachers have a few ideas if not- but it would be great to hear from a few of you -it is just like reading your work out in class and your classmates will all be keen and supportive if you do wish to share your work!

English

Below is today’s recorded lesson to watch before or after the meeting whichever suits you. Today we are completing our Chapter 2 with a twist and your Year 3 teachers w0uld love to see your work when you are finished so please e-mail to year3@abbeyroadprimary.co.uk

Science

We finish our work on rocks today by looking at Soil. How can soil be in the rocks topic I hear you say?! Well, watch below to find out!

There is a worksheet below called Roger Rock that you can use to retell Roger’s story.  Please do not feel the need to print it out – you are welcome to retell the story in pictures and words in your own way.  There is also a matching sheet attached.  Read the descriptions of the soil and see if you can match them to the pictures of the different soils.  Again – no need to print!

As always, if you have any problems or questions we are only a message away.

Thank you for your continued support and kind messages.
