Wow, what an amazing Viking day the children of year 4 have experienced. Our day started all together with a Raiders session, learning about the different weapons and armour the Vikings wore.  It was great to hear the children sharing the knowledge they had learned during our previous sessions. We know that some of the children loved trying on some of the armour and having a go with the shields, swords and spears. After our introductory session, the children took part in a Traders session where they had to spend their coins wisely and decide which artefacts they could sell to the rich and poor. Our afternoon sessions focused on pastimes, toys and games. The children played ‘Kubb and Knucklebones’, ‘Nine Men’s Morris’ and a very sneaky ‘Dice Game’. The children had a wonderful day with lots of smiles all around.
