Good morning,
We hope that you are all ok and that you had a nice weekend. Hopefully you all managed to get some fresh air through walks or bike rides and you’re feeling ready to enter into a new week of home learning. We would like to remind and encourage you to stay active throughout the week too. So please make sure you are getting some physical activity each day, as well as completing the tasks that we set for you. You could join in with Joe Wicks’ workouts, find some Just Dance or Cosmic Yoga videos on YouTube or play outside in the garden -if it’s not too chilly!
We have decided that uploading a full week’s worth of learning on one post might be a bit confusing as it would contain so many different tasks, so below you will find your work for today (Monday 11th January). We hope you enjoy the tasks that we have set for you. We are asking you to submit two pieces of work for feedback today. Your Literacy task should be completed via Teams and we would like you to take a photograph of your drawn Science work and email it to us using the year5@abbeyroadprimary.co.uk email address. Please remember that these pieces of work must be sent to us and that you are welcome to send us any other work that you are proud of and would like to share using our new year group email address.

Times Tables Rockstars
Please make sure that you play at least 10 minutes of TTRS each day. See if you can earn some coins to buy something new for your Rockstar! Or challenge a friend to a ‘Rockslam’!
Literacy
We would like you to submit your Literacy work via Teams this morning. Please login to Teams and find your assignment. You will need to watch Mrs Mitchell’s video, then have a go at the activity. Please make sure that you remember to go back into Teams to submit your work for feedback and that you click ‘turn in’ once you have finished. If you forget, we can’t see what you’ve done and we’re really keen to read your writing 😊.

Spelling Shed (through EdShed)
Please continue to practise the spellings /spelling rule that you focused on in Literacy last Friday by playing games on the EdShed website for 10 minutes each day.
Daily Reading
Snuggle up and get cosy with your independent reading book for at least 10 minutes each day (more if you’re reading a good book that you just can’t put down!). Let us know if you’re reading a great book at the moment, we always love hearing your recommendations!
