What is Abbey Road Home School Association (HSA)?

Abbey Road HSA is a group of friendly people (parents/carers/teachers) who work together with the school with two main aims:

· to enhance the sense of community at the school, and

· to raise funds to enrich our children’s primary school experience.

The HSA is organised by a committee including a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, and a group of willing volunteers who come together at friendly meetings to discuss priorities for action and plan various fundraising events. The HSA communicate with each other mainly by email and informal face to face contacts on the playground.

There is an annual AGM early in the Autumn term in which the committee members are nominated and agreed upon.  Informal meetings take place through the academic year and these are open to all.  Various social and fundraising events are planned and delivered over the school year. The HSA communicate with the wider school community through the school’s email service ‘teachers2parents’, notice boards, newsletters and word of mouth.

How to become involved?

The HSA provides a great opportunity to meet and get to know other parents/carers, and learn more about the school community. We always welcome new members and value whatever support can be offered. This could be through activities ranging from informal promotion of the HSA right through to event management – every little really does help! There are many ways to get involved; you can do as much or as little as you would like. Informal meetings take place once or twice a term, either at the school or at a local pub. But if you are unable to attend meetings we can keep in touch by email. All are welcome at the meetings and we are always keen to receive new ideas and feedback.
