A group of our Year 4 children recently took part in a fun and challenging Outdoor Adventurous Activity and Team Building Festival at Rushcliffe Country Park.

The event took place within a designated activity area and gave the children lots of opportunities to work closely together as a team. Throughout the session, they focused on key skills such as communication, listening, cooperation and problem‑solving.

One activity involved searching a woodland area to find a range of objects and then remembering them accurately to report back to the adult. This task tested the children’s observation skills and teamwork as they worked together to recall as much information as possible.

Another highlight was ‘Cross the Swamp’, where the children had to travel across a grassy area using mats, ensuring no one touched the ground. This required careful planning, teamwork and turn‑taking to succeed.

The children also took part in a partner challenge where one child was blindfolded and guided safely around a short course by their partner. This activity focused on trust, clear instructions and careful listening, all of which the children handled brilliantly.

The final activity was orienteering within the set area, where teams followed a sequence of coloured cones to complete the course together.

The Year 4 children were excellent representatives of the school, showing great teamwork, enthusiasm and resilience throughout the festival. They should be very proud of the way they supported one another and embraced every challenge.

Well done to everyone involved!
