A Tree-mendous Tuesday Exploring Andy Goldsworthy

Year 3 had a wonderful ‘Tree-mendous’ Tuesday this week!  On Monday, the children learned about the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy so that during Tuesday’s forest school session, they could find naturally existing materials to produce beautiful pieces of art, Goldsworthy-style.  We thought their designs looked great!  The children also discussed the temporary ethos Goldsworthy has about his art and that he doesn’t expect it to last forever.  The children explored this idea by deconstructing their artwork and putting their materials back where they found them.  After their hard work, the children enjoyed a hot chocolate and floating marshmallow.  We even discussed how the floating marshmallow was like the less dense, soft rocks we had been learning about during a science experiment earlier in the week. Well done Year 3!
