This week, our children proudly wrapped up their Design and Technology unit with a wonderfully busy—and very creative—afternoon of sewing. After weeks of planning, practising, and refining their skills, the pupils brought their ideas to life by sewing their very own drawstring bags.
Armed with needles, thread, and plenty of determination, the children worked carefully to apply both running stitch and back stitch in a variety of ways. It was fantastic to watch them experiment with different techniques, solve problems as they worked, and support one another through the trickier moments. Their perseverance paid off, and the finished drawstring bags looked absolutely brilliant—each one unique and proudly made by hand.
A huge highlight of the afternoon was the warm, busy, and collaborative atmosphere that filled the room. This wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful support of our adult helpers, who gave their time to guide, encourage, and cheer on the children.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We would like to give a big thank you to all the adults who joined us for this hands-on session. Your patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement made a real difference. The children were excited to share their work with you, and we are incredibly grateful for the community spirit you brought to the afternoon.
Well done to all our young designers—and thank you again to everyone who helped make the session such a success!
