Over the past few weeks, the children have been learning about Pop Art and exploring the work of two very famous artists from this movement (Warhol and Lichtenstein). They studied the bold colours, comic-style effects, and striking patterns that helped define Pop Art, before using these ideas to inspire their own creations.
First, the children designed and painted their own original Pop Art piece, thinking carefully about colour choices, composition, and style. Once their artwork was complete, they then used the iPads to digitally alter and enhance their images, experimenting with filters and effects to create a modern twist on their paintings.
The results are vibrant, eye-catching, and full of personality — we are proud of the creativity and effort Year 6 have shown throughout this unit.
See the selection of pieces below. Can you work out who they all are?
