Our Year 6 pupils have been exploring the imaginative world of artist Paul Klee, focusing on his unique and expressive rod puppets. Inspired by Klee’s playful use of colour, shape, and character, the children designed and created their own puppets, each one reflecting their creativity and individuality.

Throughout the project, pupils developed their understanding of sculpture and carefully used papier mache and model magic to bring their ideas to life. From bold, abstract faces to intricate details every puppet tells its own unique story.

We are proud of the children’s enthusiasm, craftsmanship and artistic flair. Their finished puppets are a wonderful celebration of creativity and a fantastic example of how art history can inspire original work in the classroom.
