It is Anti-bullying week and to launch this national event we enjoyed Odd Sock Monday! Our message to the children is; it is ok to be different. The children have enjoyed designing their own odd socks. Winners of this competition will be announced Friday!
We also met our new Year 3 buddy partners who were very excited to have the opportunity to join us in the outside play area! It is lovely for our children to have a familiar face to look out for them around school. We look forward to spending more time working together throughout the year.
As the weather has begun to change and we begin to look ahead to CHRISTMAS, Foundation has begun to change into a frozen world. Our happy land has become a snowy village. In finger gym we have developed our cutting skills making icy spirals, we have created ice sparkle patterns and enjoyed exploring the lifecycle of a penguin and learning facts about penguins in Antarctica. Our Maths learning has focused on 1 more and 1 less and also included throwing snowballs into the correct bucket. We shared a lovely story about a lost penguin, we have been so impressed with the childrens writing about Mac the lost penguin.
Friday was fabulous! The children experimented with different ways to rescue the penguin trapped in the ice. They also enjoyed eating cake and taking part in the games that our wonderful school council had organised for us. Thank you to you all for your support during difficult times.
