Athletics club (Y3-6) has started up again after school on Mondays. Thanks to the staff and parent volunteers, we are able to accommodate all the children who would like to come.
Year 4, 5 and 6 had the exciting opportunity to take part in a mini triathlon at Harvey Hadden Sports Village yesterday. The event started with a 75m swim which was followed with a 1km bike and then a 500m run to the finish. The children were fantastic - it was great to see [...]
Well done to all the Year 5s (most of whom were playing their first competitive hockey match) who took part in the Hockey Festival last night. I was so impressed with your team work, sportsmanship and determination - there was some superb goal keeper moves and winning goals from Louis and Mylo:) Thank you to [...]
With two Y6 football matches, cross country club on as usual and twenty Y4 children taking part in a handball festival, Monday evening was certainly a busy evening for Abbey Road. Following on from our cross country success on the Monday, Mrs Toom took two teams to the Rushcliffe rowing finals at Rushcliffe School on Wednesday 21st March and we came back with another win! Well done to all of the children - your team work played a crucial part in the victory.
Thirty two fabulous children took part in the Rushcliffe cross country relays at Ruddington Park last week. Racing in teams of eight (one girl and one boy from each year group 3-6), they all ran superbly well. Cheered on by each other, and many of their parents, all our teams finished in the top half [...]
Members of Year 6 took part in the Rushcliffe indoor rowing tournament, working together in teams of four to complete a number of different challenges on the rowing machines. The event tested the children's team-work as well as their strength, skill & stamina. All of the children took to the new sport brilliantly and [...]
Children from every year group from Foundation to Year 6 had fun racing in the dark around the Christmas Tree shaped course. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all the parents for coming to support and particularly to those of you who helped me make the event possible:) [...]
Ten children from Years 5 and 6 represented Abbey Road at a cross-country event yesterday. The children weren't competing as a team; they were running as individuals, trying their very best to qualify for the Rushcliffe squad. Twelve boys and twelve girls from across the whole borough were to be selected and our runners [...]
It's too dark after school for bike club this half term but that hasn't stopped many of the children being out on their bikes. Despite the cold, mud and rain, bike club coaches, children, and their families have been having fun at Holme Pierrepont.
