Here at Abbey Road, the views and opinions of our pupils count.
At the start of each new school year, children from Years 1 to 6 consider whether they would like to represent their peers by applying for a role on our School Council. Each class then holds an election to find their representative.
Once in post, each councillor has to ensure that the views of all of the children in their class are heard. They work hard to find ways of collecting the ideas and suggestions of their classmates.
Our school council is led by Miss Healey. They meet every week to talk about any issues that have been raised by the children or suggested by different adults in school.
Some of the older School Councillors will become member of the Rushcliffe Pupil Parliament and share our school’s views with children from 30 other Rushcliffe Schools.
If you have any questions / ideas about School Council – please see your class rep or speak to Miss Healey.
