We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. The children have returned refreshed and raring to go! Our learning this week is based around the story of ‘The Bad Tempered Ladybird’ written by Eric Carle. We were impressed that some of the children recognised the author and knew he had also written ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. The children have made their own stick puppets to act out the story. We have been learning lots of facts that the children have been writing in simple sentences. In science we have sorted minibeasts into insects/not insects. Your children may be abe to tell you about arachnids and molluscs! We continue to explore minibeasts and this week have been making bug hotels in the outside play area. We already have some residents that have moved in! We have also enjoyed using our new water wall
.
In Maths this week we have been practising doubles. The children enjoyed using the dominoes to help with their learning.
This half term in computing we are continuing with using BeeBots to practise our programming skills. Some of the children this week made routes out of construction for a friend to programme a BeeBot to travel along.
We have been making flags this week to celebrate the coronation. The children also enjoyed a story about the coronation, and crown cookies for lunch!
