Earlier this half term, Year 6 were given the opportunity to take part in the ‘Safety Zone’ event held at the National Water Sports Centre.
The event provided children with an opportunity to learn about safety in a range of realistic settings. The children met safety experts such as Fire Fighters, Road Safety Officers, Police Offices and St John’s Ambulance personnel. We discussed risky situations first hand and learnt how to deal with them in a controlled environment.
The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of workshops relating to:
- Fire safety
- Public transport safety
- Electricity safety
- Seatbelt safety
- Recovery position
- Resuscitation
- Water safety
