Wow what a busy and interesting week we have had! We have been learning all about Diwali by creating our own salt dough Diva lamps, making our own Rangoli patterns using chalk on the ground and pasta and lentils in the tuff spot and we have retold the story of Rama and Sita with our friends.

As part of Diwali the children also got the opportunity to make their own Diwali sweets, called coconut ice. It was made with condensed milk, desiccated coconut and lots of icing sugar – it was very sweet and yummy!

This week was also Anit-Bullying Week. We started off the week with Odd Sock Day and then throughout we discussed the children’s similarities and differences using a book called Red, A Crayon’s Story. The children also talked about what they were good at and made each other friendship bracelets and cards.

We also practiced writing our name using our finger to form the letters in paint on easel.
