Celebrating the fact it is good to be different we had great fun wearing Odd Socks to school on Monday! The children enjoyed creating their own Odd Sock Designs, then proudly displaying them on the Foundation washing line. The theme for Anti-Bullying Week this year is ‘One Kind Word’. We shared a beautiful book to inspire our learning ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse- Charlie Mackesey. The boy in the book tells his friends that when he grows up, his greatest ambition is to be kind. Inspired by the artists illustrations the children used charcoal to show us their dreams for the future. We talked about the things that make us feel happy and how we can help others to be happy.

Continuing with our Winter Wonderland theme the children have loved creating icy designs and playing with Arctic and Antarctic animals. The children have also been scientists this week, investigating how to help the penguins escape from a block of ice. We had a hairdryer, little hammer, warm water and salt to experiment with.

Even the rain didn’t stop us enjoying our brilliant new balancing beam!

On Friday we had great fun raising money for an important charity, Children in Need. Everyone looked marvelous in their pyjamas, fancy dress and favourite clothes! School Council did an amazing job running a fair with games and prizes.
