Year 6 enjoyed their recent DT project of researching, designing, making and testing model air raid shelters. They agreed on their design criteria, specifying that their shelters had to be camouflaged (to protect from enemy detection), weatherproof (to not allow water in) and robust (to withstand bombing). They put their knowledge of triangulation and jinx joints into use when crafting their wooden structures before it fell upon the teachers to put them through adequate testing!
