WOW! What an amazing first week back we have had! This week we have been learning lots about Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes. We talked about Fire and Firework Safety and heard the story of Guy Fawkes. There was lots of fun activities in the contiguous provision linked to our topic – colouring sheets, sparkly sand in the tuff spot and chalk firework pictures.
As part of our finger gym we also made our own firework display pictures using lots of different objects and materials.
We also made our own popcorn using a microwave. We talked to the children about how to use it safely and why we should be careful when handling things that are hot. The children enjoyed listening to the popping of the popcorn and loved eating it even more!
