Last week we began our Forest School club for the Year 6 children. We have a very enthusiastic bunch of wilderness explorers and it has been so lovely to see how they have enjoyed themselves in nature- particularly when it comes to mud and puddles!
In the first session, we played some FS games, got creative with the mud kitchen and learnt how to create a successful fire. We then toasted marshmallows and boiled the kettle to create our own hot chocolate.
This week we weaved a Gods-eye, played with the mud (back by popular demand) and then the children were in charge of making our fire. We challenged all the children to create a spark using flint and steel although close, nobody was successful this week. Our challenge is to get each of the children to light our fire by the end of our sessions. The children then toasted fruit and sugar, popcorn and hot chocolate on the fire.
You really are a fantastic bunch and we look forward to our sessions with you! Thank you :).
